Senior Fullstack Engineer – TV4 & MTV Finland (Nordic Team)
Your next opportunity
TV4 and MTV Finland are jointly building the next generation of streaming and media technology for millions of daily users. Together, we’re transforming our Nordic technical ecosystem, moving from traditional integration platforms toward domain-owned, modern service layers that handle both business logic and integration at scale.
We are now looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who wants to play a key role in this transformation and help evolve the systems that power our content planning, scheduling, and delivery pipelines, critical components in both broadcast and streaming operations across Sweden and Finland.
The role
As a senior engineer in our cross-Nordic team, you will take long-term ownership of a strategic domain within our content delivery and planning ecosystem. The planning system you’ll work with serves as the central hub of our broadcast operations, tightly connected to downstream systems such as scheduling, production workflows, metadata distribution, and content delivery platforms.
Your work will be backend-heavy, but you’ll contribute across the stack when needed. Over time, you will help drive the shift from our current iPaaS-based integration setup to domain-driven architecture, building modern services with strong boundaries, clear contracts, improved reliability, latency, and team autonomy.
In the first 6–12 months, you’ll own an existing solution while leading incremental decoupling from legacy integrations, improving observability, operational workflows, and the overall developer experience.
What you’ll do
You will play a central role in evolving the systems that ensure seamless content planning, scheduling accuracy, and reliable delivery across multiple broadcast and streaming endpoints. Your day-to-day work will include:
Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services, APIs, and domain-driven components with a strong focus on performance, security, and operability.
Ensuring robust, high-throughput data flows that support real-time media operations under heavy traffic.
Developing and evolving the integration layer that connects planning systems to scheduling, production, distribution, and metadata flows.
Participating in architectural vision work and migration strategies as we move toward a modern Nordic service layer.
Working across Sweden and Finland with product, architecture, and platform teams to align on target architecture, contracts, and shared outcomes.
Core responsibilities
Evolve and maintain our content planning and delivery systems ensuring stability, reliability, and long-term sustainability of critical operational services.
Design, implement, and operate backend services, APIs, and integrations that support high-volume, business‑critical media workflows.
Contribute hands-on throughout the stack:
Primarily backend (Node/TypeScript, Go, or similar)
Occasional UI or front-end tasks as needed
Ensure high availability, low latency, and secure data flows across distributed systems.
Take full operational ownership of your domain: CI/CD pipelines, observability, alerting, incident response, performance optimizations, and continuous improvement.
Document integration contracts, architectural decisions, and operational guardrails to support cross-team alignment.
Skills and experience
You bring several years of experience building modern, scalable backend systems and are comfortable contributing across the stack. Specifically:
Strong senior-level experience in backend development using TypeScript/Node, Go, or similar languages.
Hands-on experience with distributed systems, event‑driven architectures, and performance‑critical environments.
Proficiency with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, including operating services in production (monitoring, scaling, incident handling).
Solid experience with CI/CD, observability, and operational best practices.
Familiarity with configuration as code (Terraform preferred).
Experience with test-driven development, building well-documented APIs, and maintaining production-grade services.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to take initiative, drive change, and influence technical direction. Leadership and mentoring opportunities will naturally increase over time.
Ways of working
Empowered, outcome-oriented ownership of domains and services.
Cross-border collaboration between Sweden and Finland with clear communication and open problem‑solving.
Close alignment across product, platform, and architectural functions to ensure consistency and shared vision.
Practicalities
Location: Stockholm, TV4-huset (Gärdet). Nordic collaboration with MTV Finland; occasional travel to Helsinki.
Language: English required; Swedish and/or Finnish are a plus.
Benefits: Collective agreement, occupational pension, wellness allowance, MacBook Pro, mobile phone, and employee discounts via Benify.
The position is a permanent position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Entry is by agreement.
The application deadline is March 1st -2026. Selection and interviews are ongoing, so don't hesitate to submit your application!
