Every week, around eight million people use TV4 Play and MTV Katsomo. Content Experience is responsible for the experience from the moment users log in until they press play: how people discover content, navigate the service and find something they actually want to watch.

We are now looking for a Sr Fullstack Engineer with a backend focus who wants to help develop the technical foundation behind those experiences.

Why this role matters

Content Experience is the part of TV4 Play and MTV Katsomo that users interact with when looking for something to watch. A large and constantly changing catalogue of content needs to be easy to discover, navigate and choose from.

Behind that experience are backend services and APIs that need to handle large volumes of content and traffic quickly and reliably. They also need to work seamlessly with other systems across our technical platform.

We build our new backend services in Go and continue to evolve the architecture behind Content Experience. You will work on technically complex problems where what you build has a clear and direct impact on the user experience.

About the team

Content Experience is a cross functional team where engineering works closely with product and design. We also collaborate with other engineering teams to connect our services with the rest of TV4's technical platform.

The team has significant technical ownership and is responsible for its solutions all the way to production.

What you will do

• Design, build and evolve backend services and APIs, with Go as the primary language for new development

• Build technical solutions for discovery, navigation and content presentation

• Integrate with services and platforms across TV4's technology organisation

• Work with distributed systems where performance, availability and scalability matter

• Take responsibility for what you build from implementation through production, observability and continued development

• Work across the stack when the problem requires it and contribute to our React and TypeScript based clients

• Drive technical initiatives and contribute to architecture and technology decisions

• Use AI tools as a natural part of the development process

About you

You are an experienced fullstack engineer with a clear backend focus and mature engineering judgement. You can navigate complex systems, understand what actually needs to be solved and make well founded technical decisions even when the problem is not fully defined.

You care about why you are building something, not just how. You take responsibility for what you build all the way to production and are comfortable balancing system design, quality, reliability and long term sustainability.

We believe you:

• Have deep experience in backend development within modern production systems

• Have worked with APIs, integrations and distributed systems

• Are comfortable working in cloud based environments and with modern engineering practices

• Have a strong understanding of system design, performance, reliability and observability

• Are comfortable with frontend development and can work across the stack when the problem requires it

• Can move between the bigger picture and technical detail

• Understand that technical decisions involve tradeoffs and look for pragmatic solutions

• Communicate clearly and work well in a cross functional product team

• Use AI tools as a natural part of your engineering work

You do not need to already be a Go specialist. If you have strong experience in modern backend development and are used to quickly learning new languages and technical environments, that is equally relevant.

It is a plus if you have experience with:

• Go

• React and TypeScript

• GraphQL

• Streaming or media platforms

• Search, recommendation systems or personalised user experiences

• High traffic, distributed consumer systems

Practical information

• The role is based in Stockholm

• TV4 is office first, and we normally work from the office four days per week

• This is a permanent position with a six month probationary period
