At TV4, technology, innovation, journalism, sports and entertainment come together.

Every week, around eight million people use TV4 Play and MTV Katsomo. Before a single programme reaches them, it has to travel through a long chain of systems: received, processed, prepared, published and delivered.

We are now looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join the Media Supply Tech team in Content Delivery, the area that builds and operates the systems moving content from planning and preparation to TV4 Play, MTV Katsomo and linear television.

About the team

Our part of the chain is the media supply: the ecosystem that receives, processes, prepares and moves media between systems. Keeping that flow reliable is the foundation of everything we do.

But we are also building what comes next. The team is inventing and developing a completely new, automated playout system, one that challenges conventional broadcast technology by using the cloud and AI.

In practice, you will work on the whole chain: reliable ingest with retries and failure handling, event-driven workflows and queues that run processing and transcoding jobs, storage and cost optimisation for large volumes of video, and a steady flow of new integrations and features.

The team works where engineering, operations and production meet. What we do, in the end, is solve problems. Collaboration is important to us: we solve them together, within the team and with the people who feel them.

What you will do

• Build and evolve the services that move media through TV4's delivery process

• Find manual steps and handovers in the flow, and automate them away

• Work closely with users and stakeholders to understand what they need, and let the value for them guide what you build

• Simplify a landscape of systems and integrations that has grown over many years

• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction across the media supply chain

• Take responsibility for your services in production, including monitoring and continuous improvement

• Use AI tools actively as part of the development process

About you

You are a motivated and growth-minded engineer who takes ownership. When you pick something up, you see it through from start to finish, and you care about whether it actually helped someone.

Engaging with people across the organisation comes naturally, whether they are engineers, operators or producers. Collaboration is important to us, and you make the people around you better, listen as much as you build, and bring others along.

With a strong grasp of the big picture, you can put yourself in the shoes of a user or a colleague in another team. The value you create for them comes first, and the technology follows.

We also believe that you:

• Have solid engineering fundamentals from building and operating software across the stack, so you can judge what AI produces

• Communicate clearly and make complex things easy to understand

• Have experience working in modern cloud-based product environments

• Have adopted AI and agentic development as a tool for improving quality, learning and productivity

Experience from streaming, broadcast or media technology is a plus, but not a requirement. Come with curiosity and a will to learn, and you will pick up the rest with us.

Practical information

TV4 is office-first and we work from our Stockholm office four days a week.

The position is permanent with a six-month probationary period.
